"Oh What Fun We'll Have...."
Put on your hat and scarf and feel the chill in the air as you explore the age-old traditions of the Europe Christmas Markets. We will travel by train to various towns and medieval villages in the Alsace (France) and Germany. Enjoy guided sightseeing, typical regional accommodations, traditional music and foods.
Start the holiday traditions in the medieval village of Rothenburg on der Tauber, a totally walled village full of holiday charm and has the most famous Christmas Store in Europe. In Heidelberg you will explore the ancient Baroque Old Town with its hillside castle. Visit the historic town of Colmar in the Alsace, home of Bartholdi, builder of the Statue of Liberty and wander the tiny cobblestone streets of other nearby medieval villages. (perhaps sample the famous Alsatian Wine.) Nuremberg will delight you with over 180 wooden stalls filled with crafts and foods, enjoying the market, a tradition of over 300 years. Eat, drink and be merry for the holiday season and join our small group for a magical adventure.
